Vexcel is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team in Madrid, Spain with a deep focus on collaboration with our engineering team in Boulder, Colorado. Vexcel manufactures the best-in-class Vexcel UltraCam camera, maintains a fleet of aircraft, and operates a cloud-based platform to process the imagery. In addition to our regular aerial collections, we mobilize for disasters – hurricanes, tornados, floods, etc. We provide our imagery free of charge to FEMA, NOAA, Homeland Security, and first-responders to aid in disaster response efforts. Your Role As a member of the Vexcel team you will work with the latest cloud-based technologies in an agile development environment. You will use multi-petabyte data sets to create products that have direct and positive impacts on our customers. ● 4+ years in a Lead Developer role ● 8+ years in a software engineering role ● Strong technical leadership and communication skills ● Strong problem-solving skills ● Cloud development (AWS/Azure: Lambda/Function, Step Functions/Logic Apps, SQS/Azure Queues) ● Large scale public REST endpoints ● Geospatial libraries The Team The team is primarily based in Boulder, Colorado with colleagues in Madrid, Spain and Graz, Austria.
